Grande Ronde

Three of us had a perfect spring trip on the Grande Ronde, catching an ideal weather and water window. The nights and mornings were frosty, requiring down jackets and hats, but the days were pleasant in camp. After curry dinner one night we put the hot leftover rice in a ziplock bag and cooled it down on our cold feet. A first-time river-trip luxury spa experience. In camp we played lots of washers, did some hiking, and enjoyed the butterflies and lizards waking up for the year. We paddled three days and did one layover day.
