Trip Report

ReporterRobert S. Farmer

I ran this in 2003. A local fisherman told me an interesting story. He said that the large spire rock at the base of the falls was a recent addition. Apparently, two local boaters were running the creek, with knowledge from prior descents, came over the lip of the familiar falls, and launched directly into the rock, which fell from underneath the road, and wasn't there before. (By the way, the road looks a bit spooky, now.) One of them died. It just goes to show that things change, and we need to be careful, even on streams that we think we know. Someone leaves a wreath at the top of this falls every so often, so apparently someone believes that a friend/relative died at the falls.
