Because of high water level the rapids were a bit tame, however there was one respectable wave proved challenging and entertaining for the six kayakers. The course is more defined at a lower water level. There is a scenic foot bridge which crosses the river and a paved foot path (nice for bringing boats up back up) On this sunny day there were crowds of people out walking on this and watching from the bridge as we ran the rapids.
Just downstream a block is Nelson Park, which has additional parking and picnic tables.
