Ran today at about 3,000 cfs and barely below 7'. First time down. At this level, the only significant rapid was the one that you can barely see from the bridge, with a sizable moving whirlpool on the left eddy line at the bottom. Surfed maybe 10 waves, but not a great play run at this height - you got one shot on most waves and that was it. Will have to try it lower - I presume a lot was just washed out.
Was very quick - from my house in Roanoke, paddling, and back, was 3.5 hours. Russell Bailey - Roanoke VA
