Road Cut
Description
Roadcut rapid is marked by the Boulder Canyon highway cutting through a large piece of the canyon wall. It is routine to scout this rapid, since wood tends to collect here. The top section is run center moving left before 2 options become available on either side of a large pyramid rock in the center of the creek. The commonly run left side requires a boof over a large pourover just left of the pyramid rock, and then quickly moving back to river right to avoid a rock jumble. The right side has a slot just right of the pyramid rock which lines up perfectly with the exit, but the current here is pushy and it’s common to get flipped off the river right wall.
