Cascade

The Cascades of the Cascade are a set of Class V-V+ drops along the last half mile of the Cascade River above Lake Superior. They can all be scouted or portaged along a set of well-developed hiking trails and boardwalks along the river. Scout carefully, as many of the drops are twisted and heavily constricted and can collect logs. The largest falls, Lover's Leap, is approximately 30' tall and adorns the excellent, but out of print, guidebook Northwoods Whitewater by Jim Rada.
