2011 Potomac Fest Wrap Up

Another great Potomac Fest has come and gone. If you didn't make it this year, make sure you put it on your calendar for next year!

This event is put on by a group of excellent volunteers each year as a fundraiser for American Whitewater. We're always impressed with the hard work, dedication, and positive attitudes that these folks display especially given the size and complexity of the event.

Big thanks also go out to the events many sponsors for their support and the myriad of racers that competed in the six different competitive events. Plus, there were three community focused events this year too including a community paddle, a special Family Day event with Team River Runner and a free intro to slalom clinic.

This years event even received some incredible coverage in the Washington Post including a front page photo and a article highlighting the growing partnership between paddlers and the Great Falls Park Service staff. This relationship has improved dramatically over past years and it's wonderful to see the two groups working together in harmony.

You can see a few photos in AW's facebook photo album from the event.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this event a success!
