Waterfalls. Lots of waterfalls. The North Poudre Canal diverts water into what would normally be a dry gulch in the eastern plains near Livermore. The last mile of the diversion canal is natural stream bed and it is drop pool waterfall action. Take out above the lake.

The largest rapid on the river is a cleft through a hill with a near vertical slide into a toilet bowl type pool. Careful here it can get sticky at the bottom of the slide.

Many will put in below the big drop at Dead Cow Chute. There is a pool and then a ledge with a channel on the left and a vertical drop on the right.

The biggest drop and the one you will see while driving down the dirt road.It looks like it will be more difficult that it really is.

The river gets very narrow below the roadside ledge. It cuts deep into the soft red stone and creates a narrow set of slides and a very sticky hole at some flows.
There are several places to flip and get dragged down over the last few drops.

The first dam is not visible from the road. You could boat it but why?

The ledge after the first dam is a real pin hazard.

The last dam is also boatable but why?

Skip this one boys. Put in is on private property, private ranch property and the ditch company claims they own the water in the ditch. We rolled up and the State parks was on us before we got our skirts on. Unless access is improved expect a barrel in your face at the take out.

This is one of the drops you can see from the road.
Just after the river emerges from a slot canyon you get this little ledge.
This dam is the one man made feature if you don't consider the artificial flows.

The biggest drop and the one you saw from the road. Never seen a boat get stuck here but a flip would hurt.
