River Description

This creek has two sections - the lower is class III with some play, and the upper class IV starting near Montezuma.

From Whitewater of the Southern Rockies:

"the real gem of this river is the upper, with a swift Class IV section that starts off of Montezuma Road, about four miles up from Hwy 6. There are four main rapids in this section.

the lower is a mellow class III with a few small surf-spots."

There is a river-wide log 200 to 300 yards downstream of the 4-corners intersection / Keystone
condo check-in. It's downstream of the winding, gravel bar section below the two bridges just
before the small gorge section upstream of the gold course.
