This section is most often used by fishermen in drift boats, but does get run by whitewater boaters who add it to the run above or below to lengthen their day. Most of the run is straight forward and easy floating, but one class II+ rapid can be tricky for drift boats or rafts at low water. This rapid comes where there is a big grass lawn on the right and a couple houses, there are a number of small boulders in the river. Boaters in large craft should hug the right bank at low water to avoid hitting those boulders.
This rapid can be tricky for drift boats and rafts at low water, hug the right bank to avoid the many rocks in the center and left side of the river. Kayakers can weave through however they like.
The take out is at the Upper Peninsula boat launch site. Take note of the location while setting shuttle, as it would be possible to float past it and into the next run, which is significantly harder.
