River Description
The dam in Rock Falls was removed summer of 2021. Based upon aerial maps, very little of interest to whitewater boaters was revealed upstrearm of the former dam location.
Downstream, the creek heads into an intimate little gorge and boogies for the next mile before mellowing out as it hits the floodplain of the Chippewa River.
We have no specific awareness of any runs of this, but it appears to have adequate drainage area (about 34 sq.mi. at Rock Falls) to make it runnable a good handful of days a year, and enough gradient (looks like 60' of drop in less than a mile) to be potentially interesting.
If you have scouted this, or have run it, and have additional information, please help out your fellow boaters by adding a 'Trip Report'.
River Features
Possible longer trip put-in
One could add 2.25 miles to the trip by putting in from CTH.H.
Some aerial views show a possible 'disturbance' right at/downstream of this bridge. Otherwise, this is likely to be mostly flatwater/swiftwater warmup float until the former dam site at our suggested put-in (Hwy.85).
Put In: Hwy.85
Action may start off with a 'bang' as you quickly head into a steep-walled 'dells', and the river drops 60' in less than a mile.
