River Description

A park-and-play in 'Centaur Chute' around Howell Island in the Missouri River. Water flows across a drive-thru (from the shore to the island) and creates a wide wave at favorable flows.

Check out the following YouTube Video, reportedly at 100,000 cfs (unsure if it really correlates to cited gauge).

Good level is between 24 and 27 ft on the gauge link below, with prime level from 25 to just over 26 ft. Usually runs in spring and summer. There is rumor of the low water bridge being repaired, unsure how this will affect the waves. There is some re-bar and sharp concrete from the bridge toward river right, be sure to get at least 20 yards out before dropping in. Swift current can make for dangerous paddling if lacking experience and it will be a very long swim on a wet exit. Some better videos and pictures are linked as well.
