River Description

This Class II-III stream feeds into East Fork Lake and is only runnable after heavy rains.  The put-in as at the OH-133 bridge over the creek.  If the creek looks runnable, then you are good to go.

This run description is based off two runs of the creek at what is assumed to be moderate to high water in high volume river runners.  Other boaters have frequented this creek and state there is decent play throughout the run:  The creek starts out with some Class II boogie water for about 2/10 of a mile followed by two medium ledge holes, one right after the other.  The top hole is a seam in the middle that can be shot through, while the second doesn't have such an option - just gather some steam and punch it.  About 4/10 of a mile into the run is a really nice (and easy) near-riverwide surfing hole/wave.  This wave is located at about the last signs of civilization, as you enter East Fork State Park.  Wave surfing on river right and hole surfing in the middle, which appeared to be good for any variety of hole moves.

More boogie water, small play, and tree dogging until you reach the flat water section before the low head dam (about 1.4 miles into the run).  You'll see a building on river left (pump station??), which is your indication to get river right.  Don't get too close as you get out on river right.  As you walk downstream towards the dam, you'll notice a well worn path around the dam.  Follow that and you'll find an easy spot to put-in below the dam.

After the dam, the action really picks up.  There is a small low-angle surf hole just below the dam on river right.  This is good for spins even in a high-volume river runner.  It's sticky enough to hold you for spins, but not to keep you (think spin holes below Double Suck on the Ocoee).  After a short section of boogie water, there is a river-wide hole not far downstream of the dam.  I think people probably play in this, however, it looks pretty sticky (easily punched in a river runner).  The n
