River Description

This extremely short stretch (1/4 mile of rapids) is rarely run. According to posts on the Northeast Paddlers' Massage Board, it's not going to be high on your list:

'(T)the general consensus is that its not really worth it.'

'(F)orget wasting the gas to get there. Mother Nature laid a goose-egg for this gorge and boating.'

The section has river-wide sharp ledges and poor water quality. But, hey: it has rapids. If I lived in the area, I'd give it a shot at least once.

Lat/longitude coordinates are a rough SWAG, from descriptions and online maps, to get you in the vicinity.

Low water view of the drop at the end of the Blackstone Gorge. 3.5 feet on the Millville, MA gage. Unfortunately, the water above the gorge is often diverted to a nearby hydroelectric plant. You really need a visual to know if it is running. At this level its too low.
