02. Woodcamp to Third Dam

Did this in inflatable kayaks on one of the hottest days of the year and it was amazing. How come more people don't float this section? Put in at Wood Camp, took out out Spring Hollow. No channel-spanning wood, a few strainers we had to make some quick moves to the other side of the channel. The boulder garden below Card was as hard as St. Anne's. A few butt scooches on some rocks, but not too bad. Just a really great consistent class II+ to keep you on your toes.

We did the town section yesterday (Denzel Stewart to Mendon Rd) and it felt less safe. One really nasty tree in Rendezvous that bottlenecked us and flipped one of our boats and then a few others by Trapper that we had to bushwhack through. But still really fun!

At 300 cfs, this was a very fun spashy (and beautiful!) ride in packrafts. Started at Woodcamp and although the water looked low from road, there was very minimal scooching. St. Annes rapid is pretty mellow at this level if you stay on the easiest line.
