Beaver, E.Br.
A) Beaver River Road to CR5 (10.85 miles)
| Difficulty | II-III(IV) |
| Length | 9.6 mi |
| Avg Gradient | 55 fpm |
| Reach Info Last Updated | April 29, 2015 |
River Description
At the listed put-in, the river is likely small and may have regular problems with downed trees, strainers, sweepers, and log-jams. Expect some (significant) areas of flatwater, but you can also look forward to some areas of significant gradient. With overall gradient near 55 FPM, and max (full-mile) somewhere near 115 FPM, I would expect at least good class II-III, with likely a spot or two entering class IV territory (but that is all conjecture).
The listed take-out (and put-in for the next section) is labeled both as CR5 and CR11 (and is Penn Blvd within nearby Silver Bay).

River Features
Put In
Logpile
At this point, the river is split into a number of channels by a number of islands. At least as of the date of the aerial views, there is a major accumulation of woody debris at the head of these islands. Proceed with caution to determine if there is safe passage on any water route, but be prepared to portage.
This may act as an early warning for Pancake Falls about a half-mile downriver.
CR15/11
Possible alternate take-out/put-in.
Restricted bridge
As the gradient peters out, you'll encounter a bridge. On the aerial/topo maps, this is marked 'Restricted' and indicates 'Gate' at CR4. It appears there is a cemetery (?) just north of this road, which might be possible to use as ingress/egress.
