River Description

With only about 7 square miles of drainage (a quarter-mile below listed put-in), this is obviously extremely small, and will 'go' only when everything else is in flood (or near flood conditions. That said, it appears there are a number of great rapids, ledges, and falls in this 'Top Slate' reach.

It is possible (likely) that using our listed put-in may only add swiftwater and class I-II warm-up water, plus a high potential for deadfall and snags. It may be preferable to use this bridge to cut off that upper stretch and start with better action which begins pretty immediately downstream.

Looks pretty wild (on satellite view) . . . probably merits scouting!

Downstream there is much decreased gradient. While it makes for a very short run, boaters may prefer to take out here.
