River Description
short run with a couple of good rapids and one logistics problem; limited access and parking at Buck Dam. There is a very long portage path around the dam on river right if you plan to take out at the public access at Ivanhoe. Or take out river left above the dam and have a shuttle pick you up or hiking/biking the New River Trail back to the put-in to bring your vehicle down the one lane Buck Dam Rd to retrieve your boat.
some class I and class III Buck Rapid above the dam
a couple of class II between the Dam and the take out at Ivanhoe
alternate guage = tail flow at Byllesby DamĀ https://www.aep.com/environment/conservation/hydro/NewRiverFlows/
