First of all, Frissel is above Paradise, and Finn Rock is below Bruckart, so we did a middle section out of the section described here.  For us, with playing on the river and a lunch, it was a day trip.

We ran this section with a club group and found it more enjoyable than we remembered.  At this flow at least there are many catch-on-the-fly surfing waves for hardshells, and lots of small eddies to catch.  The upper part is more exciting with some fast rapids and a channelized section past Paradise campground (riprap down the left bank), and one of Oregon's famous covered bridges in the lower part.

The fire was disastrous for a large part of this valley.  The lower part of the run has burnt forests on both sides and views of slopes, some of which have been salvage logged, and others of which still have dead wood standing.  The burned homes have mostly been rebuilt, and there are a lot of homes alongside the river on this section.
