Klamath

We had four kayaks and two rafts (oar boat and R2) out for a run on K’íka·c’é·ki Canyon at summer flows of 900 cfs. We were doing some filming and documenting rapids along the way so we went at a slow pace and continued on down through the Iron Gate run. We previously did a flow study (prior to dam removal) at 700 cfs and 800 cfs which we found to be at the low end of optimal and 900 cfs was a great summer flow. It helps to know the lines through some of the rapids and given that a few of us have been down previously, we boat scouted the run. There are a few rocks to avoid and still some formidable holes like the one on river left in Kit·árʔ. We found that K’íka·c’é·ki Falls had mellowed out considerably and the large boulder at the bottom is gone. The water and air were warm and it was a pleasure to be out in a sun shirt or shorty splash top.
