River Description
Reedy Creek is a short run that is in after 1 hour of steady local rain. Reedy Creek Runs through Forest Hill Park and the shuttle is generally walked after several laps. Scouting is very easy via forest hill park.
River Features
Put-in
from crossroads coffee walk up Bland St to the corner of bland and Duston Ave there is a small trail that leads to the creek.
Forest hill bridge
the second rapid on the run is right before the forest hill bridge. small bogie water with a rock/pour over in the center. This rock is a good gauge to see how high the river level is. If the rock is dry reedy is low if the water is pouring over the rock reedy is good to go. Just after the bridge stay right through the boogie water.
Log drop
There is usually wood stuck in this drop. At high water, it is possible to run over the right side of the log. at lower water portaging is mandatory.
second slide
This slide is one of the main drops of reedy. start right and work left try to avoid the pothole in the center. after the drop, eddy river left to take out before the final drop or do another lap of the slide.
bolder drop
To run the boulder drop you have 2 options. The left and right line. the left line is in at lower water. as the water rises the left line opens up. it is less technical.
the right line has a technical slotted entrance. after the entrance watch for a guard rock. you can go either side of the guard rock but it is very important not to get sucked into the sieve on the left. this can be achieved by boofing right.
The left has an easier entrance you can boof on the left side of the sieve but watch for pin rocks at the bottom
take out
After the boulder drop, there are some more read and run slots. take out on the left side and make your way back up to the road that goes through forest hill park.
