Yadkin, South

There is a USGS gage on an adjoining watershed, Lower Little River@ Healing Springs. The drainage at the gage site is slightly smaller than this portion if the South Yadkin. If the Lower Little is running 120 cfs or more the South Yadkin should be running. This section drains about 40 sq. miles and has an average output of about 55 cfs. If one has the misfortune of missing this run due to low water, try Hunting Ck near Union Grove. Put in at or above Eagle Mill Rd and take out at Rt. 21. This stream has one significant drops and several smaller ones and reaches 30 fpm. This stream drains 100 sq. mi which the same as the Fisher and do not understand why it has been passed over.
