River Description
Cooper Creek is a journey deep within the earth, as it flows through a canyon so narrow that it is spanned by a chock stone and often multiple levels of trees that fell from above and wedged overhead. It is a beautiful and committing run through the slot canyons, which are of course subject to being blocked by wood. Low water is the recommended approach in case of a blockage, and at those flows the whitewater is not menacing. Mostly class III and light IV. As the guidebook might say, this is a Class III/IV but Grade V run.

Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportLocals Carl and Dito graciously shared this creek with me on a chilly fall day right before winter closed the creeking season. It is a spectacular creek that had been run a couple times before. While the whitewater is not especially hard, the canyon is absolutely committing in many locations, and extremely scenic.
