River Description

A lot of flat water on this run with some class I-II stuff at normal levels. Action picks up as it goes along. The gauge for this is about 25 miles downstream after the Hudson, Middle Fork and North Fork all merge together so you will not be seeing the CFS that the gauge reads on this Hudson run. I have always used this gauge as a reference though and have ran it with that gauge showing anywhere from 3.5 to 6ft. Im sure it could be ran higher and will update it if I do. I would say at levels of 8ft or more one rapid could approach a class III.

River Features

Highway 106 Bridge Put-in

Distance: 0 mi

I typically park on the north end of the bridge, east side of the road. There is also a paved section on the south end of the bridge, west side of the road but its the beginning of a landowners path through the woods and im not sure how they feel about it or how often they utilize that road so probably best not to block it. But at the north end you'll pull off onto the shoulder, its plenty wide at this point and carry your boat behind the gaurdrail and down to the river. Its just a scramble down the bank. Under the bridge is typically not grown up and makes for a fairly easy put in location.

Highway 29 Bridge Take-out

Distance: 6.84 mi
Take Out

You'll take out on river right at the Hwy 29 bridge. It's the only bridge you will encounter on the run. Its a steep walk up the downstream side of the bridge but there is a path and a good parking location on the southeast end of the bridge where you will come up with the boat.

A lot of flatwater with 3 or 4 decent class 2 rapids. A few strainers in a couple of the calm sections but all are easily avoidable without exiting the boat.
