River Features
Redington Road Put-in
Rt 27 and Reddington Road
first ledge
boof the meat or skirt to right at higher flow
Baileys
This rapid is generally portaged due to a boulder falling in the river during hurricane Irene and leaving a manky undercut pocket/hole that would be most unpleasant. After the first ledge rapid continue down boogie eventually you'll be able to see RT 27, once the river turns left away from the road again, if you don't know where Bailey's is eddy out river right walk down stream to scout the Rapid above Baileys and Bailey's. There are many eddies river right and1 significant ledge before Bailey's. If the water is at higher flows, unaware paddlers can be swept right into Baileys. There is a cluster of camps downstream on the right, and in front of one of them is Bailey's Rapid which has a huge boulder hanging into the river left. Put in below and get rdy for the biggest rapids on the run. This rapid has been run at lower and higher flows but is generally portaged.
First Rapid after portage
After putting back in after baileys you'll come into the next steep rapid. start right, work back center avoid hole to right or left at the bottom
First Rapid after portage

Whale's Tail
if portaging Baileys this is the crux of the run. A large eddy immediately river left below the 1st rapid after portage, signifies the top of Whales Tail. Pull out here and scout Whales Tale. At high flows the hole at the bottom gets very beefy. Start center and work right to avoid the hole on the bottom in the center to the right.
Staircase/Island Rapid
After Whales Tail enjoy a long fun boogie section. This rapid is easily itentified from the road as you can see a large rock island in the middle. Enter River right at the entry rapid 'staircase', then island comes next at higher flows there are boofs far right and left of center. At lower flows run just right of the island.
Airport/Narrow Guage Trail bridge
due to mud season often times you need to pull in just South of Sugarbowl drive into the Narrow Gauge trail head.
