19. Lee's Ferry to Lake Mead (The Grand Canyon)
At typical moderate flows the mouth of Matkatamiba Canyon has a good eddy that provides access up the canyon. Matkatamiba Rapid is immediately downstream of the canyon mouth (visible in the photo). If you miss the eddy and find yourself in the rapid (or if the mouth is full with other groups), you can continue downstream to Matkat Hotel and access the canyon by hiking along river left. This is a longer route into Matkat.
