This is a very seldom paddled hike-in wilderness run on the uppermost section of the South Fork Smith, also referred to as Upper Upper South Fork Smith.
In addition to being difficult to access, the run is challenging, featuring one rapid named Xenodeath Falls (a portage). High up in the Siskiyou Range, this run is geographically close to Dillon and Clear creeks, which feature similar geology.
Best guidebook: Dan Menten's The New School Guide to Northern California Whitewater, p. 29.
