River Description
Chill but fun float through Canon City with two play feautues at the top, a possible third feature below the train station at the right flows. Commonly tubed in the summer time by locals.
Abundant signs point to a a dam in the lower section of the run. This is a diversion dam/weir made of rocks, and is commonly passed through a boat chute on the left. It is not noteworthy to experience boaters at most flows.
Additional signage for 'last legal access' at the McKenzie Bridge take out refers to a seperate dam just upstream of Florence, in the next section downstream. This is discussed more in that entry.

Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportThe new redesign at the Canon City Whitewater Park is great and the main feature is great surfing at even the lowest water levels. We hit it for New Years Day and you could surf anything in it. It was 320 CFS when we hit it.
