One of the many whitewater adventures to be had surrounding the Marble Mountain Wilderness Area, Upper Elk Creek is a great, challenging run with bedrock gorges and small waterfalls. It can be continued downstream into the run on Elk Creek from Sulphur Springs to the Klamath River.
Off-trail access to river left at the confluence of Granite and Elk creeks. Use the Elk Creek Trail to get close, then dive downhill to the put-in.
Undeveloped take-out on river right near Sulphur Springs.
