River Features
Put-in #1
Put in at Jordan's Point Park in Lexington, river right.
Put-in #2
Alternatively, put in at one of the Chessie Trail accesses on river left just south of Rt. 11 along Rt. 631, Old Buena Vista Rd. Combined with the river left takeout at the Rt. 60 bridge, this allows you to do a bike shuttle along the Chessie Trail.
Washed-out dam
At the dam site, much of the flow goes to the right around the end of the dam, but it's also possible to run through the break in the dam, a small drop.
Take out #1
Ben Salem Wayside - alternate takeout if you want to run the shuttle on river right and/or have a slightly shorter trip.
Takeout #2
Take out at the Rt. 60 bridge boat ramp, river left. Chessie Trail access, ample parking.
Hazard - Dam/Portage Required
This is below the takeout, so it's not part of this trip, but worth mentioning: about a quarter mile below the Rt. 60 bridge, there is a dam at an abandoned power station, requiring a half mile portage. Good incentive not to miss the takeout.
