This photo was taken about 50 yards down from the entry of the left channel of Mill Race. The entry drop is a narrow, steep four foot drop over the remains of an old dam. It's just out of site at the top left behind the abutments. A word of warning: there is a lot more gradient in this rapid than the picture suggests! The level is about 9.4'. Just a little bit more water can make this rapid significantly more difficult!

Pictured is 'Danger' Dave Amato running the main drop of the right channel of Mill Race. Though the right drop is definitely more dramatic, it's more straight forward than the left. Just don't mess up the lead in. Beware of debris that often accumulates in the pool at the base of this slide.
Pictured is the 20 or so yards of lead in just before you get to the slide. (The photographer is standing at the lip of the slide.)
