River Description
[Stub for river description]
Sulunharas Creek is the easternmost whitewater stream entirely within the Klamath Mountains. Its watershed is bounded to the west by the McCloud River and to the east by the Pit River, both of which are significantly larger than Sulanharas Creek and originate in the Cascade Range before flowing into the Klamath Mountains. Along with the Sacramento River, each of these flow directly into Shasta Lake and form the four major arms of the lake (which are simply inundated river canyons).
Several miles along Sulanharas Creek both upstream and downstream of Madrone Campground burned in the 2024 Shoe Fire. Be alert for in-stream wood.
