River Description
Morrison Creek from the confluence of Lodgepole is navigable and provides relief for packrafters and other paddlers hiking in to the Middle Fork Flathead River. Morrison Creek above Lodgepole Creek looks a bit too skinny, brushy, and woody to be worthwhile.
River Features
Morrison Creek Trailhead
While most paddlers seeking a hike-in option to the Middle Fork choose Granite Creek's shorter approach, Morrison Creek is also an option that gives some more time on the Middle Fork. This trailhead for Trail 154 is the start of the hike in.
Bear Creek Take Out (Middle Fork Flathead)
Morrison Creek flows into the Middle Fork and paddlers then paddle out, typically to the first road access take out at Bear Creek.
Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportI paddled Morrison Creek on the way to the MF Flathead. The MF was very low and Morrison was too low. I was able to float 3/4 and wade 1/4 of Morrison. My back was hurting from a heavy pack and it was a nice relief. If the MF is at medium or higher flows, I bet Morrison would be a nice float with class 2 rapids.
