Salt
02. US 60 to Hwy 288 above Roosevelt Reservoir

The river has hit 900 CFS.
On 4/19/2024 we noted a throw bag in Overboard rapid between the big rock at the bottom and the cobblestone shoal on river left. The rope was attached to something in the river left shoal about 75 feet up stream from the bottom pour over. We were able to capture the bag/rope with another throw bag and moved the rope upstream as far as we could to dislodge it from whatever it was connected to but were unable to get it out. After moving into the river above the shoal as far as we could safely go we secured as much of the throw bag and rope that we could and then cut the rope. There is still rope on the far left side near the cobblestone shoal maybe 25ft or less before the large rock at the bottom. It should be out of the main line now and would only present a possible hazard to someone swimming far left near the cobblestone. This should be completely removed when flows lower and allow easier access to the cobblestone bar.
The road to access the upper canyon is closed and barricaded. No permits are available for sale through the tribe.
Hundreds of yards long portage currently at Horseshoe Bend. Looks like it would prove very difficult for larger crafts. More info here =>https://www.facebook.com/SaltRiverRafting/posts/10158281460226962
