Boreas River

Massive strainer on/in the river left route around the island just above the Northwoods Club Road take-out. It is believed by this author that no whitewater vessel can pass through and/or under this strainer, all whitewater enthusiasts should stay right at the large island at the end of the guts and glory rapid. Strainer was seen mid to late August, 2016

Ran from Route 28N to North River on the Hudson.
The wire is indeed gone.

In 2008 there was a wire across the river about a mile below the Northwoods Club Rd. bridge. It was skipping right on the surface of the water and almost cleared us out of our raft, luckily we were left of center so we had a little clearance. We were looking for it, but thought it was removed because we remembered it to be closer to the bridge, and then BAM!! there it was.

10-26-09 - A group that ran the Boreas to the Hudson reported the wire was gone. (A group of Guides took care of that)
