River Description
At modest levels this is a relatively easy creek from the old bridge on Beaches Corner Road (just off of route 296) to the takeout at the route 23A bridge. Expect mostly class 2, with a class 3 rapid just above the Mill Hollow Road bridge about half-way through the run. At higher levels this will become fast and continuous.
According to Dennis Squires it is possible to put in as much as 8 miles further upstream, at Colgate Lake on route 78, at higher levels. The upstream section is smaller, and mostly class 1 to 2. Colgate Lake is part of New York's wild forest, and has a parking lot about 3/8 of a mile from the put in just below a small dam.
Take out at the bridge on route 23A.
