River Description
This is a great play run for those of us who live nearby. There are lots of surf waves mixed in with the occasional hole, and the scenery and water quality are good.
There're lots of strainers on this run (at least 2 portages). So be on the alert!
River Features
Putin
The putin is located on Nichols road.
There is a small pull-off big enough for two cars. You can park and unload here.
log cabin rapids
After some warm up rapids, you come to log cabin rapids. There is a ledge at the top, that has a surf wave on river left. At the bottom underneath the bridge, there is a 3 foot ledge with a ugly hole. Run this left, or extreme right.
Terror Rapids
This is the best rapid on the run. Prior to the drop, there is about 300 yards of playful surfing waves. When you see the bridge, catch an eddy on river right. From here you can boat scout the rapid. Directly under the bridge, there is 6 ft slide. At lower levels, it is save to run it anywhere, but at higher levels there is a river wide hole. You can run it either extreme left or right.
At the bottom there is an intimidating but playful hole with eddy service.
Take out
The Take out is located on Granger road. Take out above the dam, and walk accross the road to the parking lot. There is a park across from the water treatment plant that has plenty of parking.
