18. Colorado/Green Confluence to Hite Marina (Cataract Canyon)
<p>4wd road (BY45): 5 miles Hiking route: 3 miles</p> <p>This cross-country route is not easy to follow, and going off-track usually leads to a large cliff. Remnants of an old mining road that appears to be built by hand gives hints as to the right direction at times, but I strongly discourage people from trying to just "figure it out" on this route.<br /> That said, it is likely the best option for kayakers and packrafters looking to hike in straight to just above the start of Cataract and cut out the days of flatwater upstream. There was nothing technical about the hike, other than one short wash drop that we passed boats down, and of course the challenging route finding. </p> <p>Start: 38.21599701907319, -109.79658173166939 End: 38.230547354062345, -109.81334042089608</p>
