Trip Reports
Log in to add a reportDNR is doing a watershed restoration project in Timber Canyon (upstream of Pinnacles area) where they are rerouting some sections of the river. Project should be done some time in 2022. Still currently runnable between their work down to at least Pinnacles.
Paddling from the Strawberry dam down is no longer recommended. The upper reaches are choked with river wide strainers and beaver dams, not to mention angry anglers every 150ft. That said driving up the Strawberry river road from the Pinnacles/ Camelot resort area and floating the 20 mile section to Starvation reservoir proved delightful. Moderate class II-I @250 CFS. About 1/2 a dozen portages, one fence. Very pretty, clean, with scenery unlike most of Utah canyon country. Probably doable down to 200 with some scraping and good up to 750 CFS.
