River Description

Jennings Creek is most popular locally for trout fishing and summer time swimming holes. But when the rain hits and the flow jumps you wont see either here. The majority of the run is located with in National Forest and mostly roadside.

There is always a bunch of wood in this creek, but most of it should be avoidable. You should watch for and note places needing portaging on the ride up.

After your laps here slide up North Creek for a tighter, faster, more technical creek with even more wood!

I ran this section on Nov. 13th, '09 (egads, on Friday the 13th!). I recommend you put in at the confluence of Middle Creek as there are strainers above there plus the heavier water is all downstream. There are two class III's back to back that start the run with no warm up so be careful. No big problems below there except for the the big falls near the end of the run. I don't recommend running the falls (class IV) on the right so manuever far left and angle your boat towards river right. A pin there is maybe possible at moderate levels so make sure you have a safety backup with throw rope and river knife handy.

Thorpe and I(Cam) ran this section Fri after work 4-3-09 when Apple Orchard Falls area got alomost 3 inches of rain(thorpe checked)over a few days.??? We ran up above Middle Creek about 1/2 to 3/4 mile above it, tops- and ran to General Store, I think 3 portages w/ a few we probably should have not limboed under.I'd say North Creek is a little bit more exciting for Whitewater Hunters, but both are great fun with some water-Cam hall

River wide ledge, directly below the house on the cliff upstream from the old furnace. This is the biggest ledge drop on Jennings. It's roadside just before you enter nat'l forest.

this rapid had a nice roostertail center-left. its a good bit upstream near the middle creek confluence.

If I remember right, the road follows the creek for most if not all of the way. Jennings does have a couple of decent drops, nothing wild though. North Cr. that flows into it is kinda fun too if there's enough water, if you keep in mind that the one 50 yard stretch of the creek that you can't see from the road harbors a fairly nasty little drop...
