Roanoke, North Fork

I just ran the lower section of this on Apr 13, the Roanoke had 300 cfs so there was enough water. I got in at the Ironto Subway exit off I-81, and went until it joined the Roanoke. There was a 4' dam immediately followed by another 3' dam followed by some significant rock difficulty, perhaps level 3. We didnt want
to do this without helmets so we made a 1/2 mile portage of our kayaks up a very steep 80 ft cliff using ropes (about a 45 degree angle). Quite challenging for novices. This area is just a little down river (east) from the Service Area on I-81 southbound at Ironto, which is separated by a fence from the service
area (no access).

Yes, there still is a landowner's dangerous fence, but that was upriver from where we got in.
