Ed Evangelidi testifies:
A fairly flat float trip. Scenery is O.K. but any excitement will come from finding a good swimming hole.

I'm going to be up in that area next week and am looking for a good place to kayak (I'm a beginner). Is this a good spot? How do I get to it?
South of watermelon park is good. You can paddle up stream or down stream. We have seen Osprey and Bald Eagles feeding in this area many times. A nice strech of river for that...you can get there from Route 50 west of the river. There is a sign where the road meets Route 50 at a farm market stand that is about a mile or so west of the route 7 bridge.

This is my home piece of river. I love it and know it like no other. If you have any questions about put-ins, take-outs, fishing, locals, lengths of various stretches, suggested floats, etc. please ask me at kylewatts01@gmail.com. Thank you and be safe out there.
