A group of 5 paddlers- 2 cat boats, 1 kayak and 2 canoes paddled this yesterday. With beta from the day before of no wood, we headed downstream. We encountered 1 riverwide sweeper (beaver caused) in the midst of the steeper, more continuous section of the river. It is approximately 1/2 mile upstream of the first bridge. Approximate coordinates are: 47.098169, -122.144889.

This log can be seen from the road. We got out at the gravel bar on river left, as river right is a man-made riprap wall. At flows ~1,000, there were no good eddies immediately above the log, and we just ran up the bank to portage. I do not believe it could be boated over in the current state.

Other than this, this was an interesting run that had potential for wood. The first half is steeper and more continuous, and the second half has more distinct rapids and flat water. Many of the rapids are long enough that you cannot see the bottom from the top, and with the gravel bar nature of the river bed that can accumulate wood, it is worth finding eddies to boat scout your way down.

The continuous nature of the run and potential for wood pushes this river towards a III.
