Humptulips, E. Fork

On 10/7/2016, put in between 4000 and 5000 cfs. Had to portage the Fish Ladder due to a large amount of logs. About 1/4 mile down river, at a small ledge is a tree angling from right to left. At this level, we didn't feel we could paddle this. We went upstream and portaged on the river right, which took us 1.5 hour.

Bill Petty reported that the log jam is still in place at the fish ladder and will likely not shift until a major flood event. Partway down the run a new landslide has formed a new rapid that represents a potential hazard. Bill reported that it could be portaged at low flows.

Bill Petty reported (4/12/2008) a major log jam at the fish ladder and several additional log jams requiring portages through the gorge. Group consensus was that it would be worth waiting for the next big flood event to move the wood before heading out on this run again.
