Giant log jam after Dragon's Back still there (edit: gone in 2024)Hannah McVean

The log jam has not budged at all. We put on at Sunset Falls and were luckily informed by Mike, local landowner, that the log jam was impassable down stream. We got out of our boats and went to check it out - confirmed, about 10 logs are jammed into the gorge walls and are utterly impassable at any water levels. The water is also fast moving at medium flows and could easily come too quickly to avoid. We were also belatedly informed that the landowner at Dragon's Back is not friendly to kayakers so Mike drove us around his land - but otherwise you need to take out after Screaming Left and put on after the gorge. The waterfalls are excellent but I'm not sure the run would be worth it as a trip on its own until the logs are cleared. Mike told us the log jam has been there for over a year - so it's unlikely to be passable until manually removed.

There is a giant log jam in the mini gorge after dragons back. It is impassable by boat. The only way to portage would be illegally via private property which I don't recommend. Dec. 8th 2021.

Tree stuck in the right slot of Screaming Left. Must make your move, I recommend a scout.
