Log in to add an alert1. Follow the high water of January 2020, the car on river left below Little Kahuna remains in place. The car that was moved to river right below Little Kahuna cannot be found. We ran the river at 650 cfs specifically looking for the cars. Just the one on river left remains. 2. A log hazard is across the right half of the channel above Big Kahuna. 3. There are wood hazards in the concrete pieces of the demolished bridge a third of a mile downstream of Little Kahuna
The cars at Little Kahuna have been moved to the sides. They are across from from another but up against the banks. The center channel is clear. Use caution when eddying at the bottom of the rapid as there is plenty of sharp metal.
I'm not sure the flow, this morning it said 1010cfs, but now shows 435cfs. There's a log in one of the rapids, before kahuna at a right bend. Dangerous at this flow. Also the cars are still in little kahuna
4/23/16, 830 cfs. Rapid after Big Kahuna, I believe it's Little Kahuna. Also marked by a huge right hand cliff wall just before the rapid. There was always a car in the water on river left, it looks like the car has moved downstream and a portion of it is still on the left bank, but the actual frame of the car is now in the center of the rapid. Very dangerous as it's the frame and a water craft could accidentally blunder into it, especially if the water was just a little higher it would be hard to see. Best to stay as close to the right bank as possible even though there would be larger rocks / pourovers on the right to contend with.
A tree is half way across the river on the left side of Kahuna rapid. Work your way to the right as you go down.
