As of April 2005, Jaws has lots of wood, but that makes the portage much easier. However, the 'eddy', or lack thereof, above the drop is very sketchy. Be ready to claw your way to shore, missing this is certain death.

The river is at a good level when the water is clear and up to this board
(indicated by arrow). If the water is brown and the board is covered it's
probably too high (at least for a first-time run).
