River Description
This reach contains a good number of marked, named rapids. The majority would appear to be low-grade (class I-II) boulder-bed type rapids.
The Flambeau has a long stretch of mild whitewater, allowing multi-day runs. To accommodate this, there are numerous streamside 'canoe campgrounds'. One such campground (apparently also accessible by roads) may be used to divide this section into two shorter sections.
River Features
Put In
Canoe Campsite
Listed on the topo maps at this location is a 'canoe campsite', which appears to be accessible by road as well. It appears this could serve as an alternate put-in/take-out, making an 'upper' section of ~8.1 miles (consisting of the three Porcupine Rapids) and/or a 'lower' section of ~6.1 miles (consisting of the three Wannigan Rapids plus Flambeau Falls Rapids).
