My third Upper G run out of five total in five days. There are only 11 customers on the trip this day with six guides. Nice Customer to guide ratio, wouldn't you say? I am extremely strong on the right side, but have no confidence on the left side to paddle because....I dont paddle on the left. Joey and I were going to go down the Upper G in an R-2, but...I had reservations about being on the left, and Joey guides on the right. Go figure. So we got another guide to come along and join us in an R-3 to paddle on the left. Poor Barbara. Little did she know.... All of us on this trip are in 12' Scouts on a Go-For-It trip....I expected to be in a big 16' boat with 7 other guests.... Damn, does this company know how to treat me right or what? Anyway, Joey normally doesnt get to guide in Scouts. Scouts are a lot easier to maneuver than 16' buses. We paddled too many strokes and hit the wrong side of the reactionary wave on the Hero Line, which bumped us into the rock before Pillow Rock. That's bad. Very bad. Maybe you can tell by all of our expressions that we knew this.
