The first big class 4 ledge below the mouth of the Stony on the Kitzmiller Section of the North Branch- watch out for Lady Kenmore at the bottom, and be careful while you walk around on shore (they call it Rattlesnake for a reason).
The second big class 4 ledge on the Kitzmiller section- just paddle right down the center!
The third big class 4 ledge on the Kitzmiller section. This ledge presents several different runnable lines; my favorite is far river left near shore. Chris and John went far river right, dropping over a shallow slide and through some waves.
This nice class 4 rapid can be recognized by the ancient bridge piers in the middle of the river. The only runnable line here is far river left near shore- the center channel is blocked by a deadly hidden strainer, and the river right channel is chock full of rebar.
There is a large, trashy hole that blocks the channel here- the best line is to hug the river left side and punch through the left corner. This is about halfway down the rapid.
Looking downstream from Maytag Hole into the rest of the rapid- there are some pretty big waves and holes down there!
